Kolugljúfur Canyon is a canyon located in the Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. The canyon is formed by the glacial river Kolugljúfur, and is approximately 2 kilometers long and up to 100 meters deep. It is known for its unique and beautiful landscape, featuring towering cliffs and waterfalls, and is a popular spot for hiking and photography.
You need to know that you have to leave road 1 to a semi good road. For SUV's this is not really an issue as well as standard cars like VW Golf etc. However, if there are bad weather conditions like snow or heavy rain I would only recommend to use it with a 4x4 car because the road will most likely not be cleared with with priority or at all! At side you can find a smal parking lot and from there it's only meters to walk. Be careful because no real marking like fences etc.
